Radapan River#2 A Farewell Party

Radapan River is the boundary of the two Municipalities, the Poonapiagapo and the Matungao, Lanao Del Norte. It is one of the sources of water that we drink in Matungao. This river is very clean. It is located in the midst of the forest.

I have visited the place with my classmates in fourth year high school. The plan was made ten days before the graduation day. When my classmates and I were resting after our P.E. class, one of my classmates suggested that we were having a farewell party. I seconded the motion and everybody agreed. Someone asked “where the venue is?” . Each one suggested different venues and Radapan River was the mostly suggested. The place was unanimously agreed on.

There were many things we need to bring for this party like sound system, cameras and others. Each one of us had an assigned thing to bring. Some were assigned to bring a kitchen tools and utensils, while I am assigned to contribute five chickens aside from 100 pesos mandatory contribution for food.

Two days after the graduation, we went to Radapan River to have a farewell party. Since the way to Radapan River is very sloppy, it couldn’t be access by any kinds of transportation even if you ride a horse, hence we went down to it hiking. Everyone amazed of the beautiful sights; the green forest, and the cool fresh air.

When we reached the river, we set up a tent and dressed it up. Then we prepared the foods like grilling the five chickens that I contributed. After that, we started the party. Everybody swim on the river and have some games. We were enjoyed at that moment. When everyone got tired, seven of our classmates served the foods and we ate. After we ate, we have an open forum. You know, this was the most touching moment in our farewell party. We were getting emotional at this time. We thanked each other for all the joy that we shared and asked sorry for some misunderstanding. Majority of us cried because we all knew that may be this was the last time that we saw each other.

Finally, we went home happily and joyfully. I hope that it will happen again but this time, a reunion.
